What kind of business pickles are in your jar?
No cash in the bank account?
Building a cashflow report can remove the surprise when you discover the cupboard is bare. Could you add a pay now button to invoice to get cash in the door faster? Have you spent the business money on personal expenses?
Workers compensation audit?
Have you declared staff wages correctly (including super)? Added in contractors who are deemed employees? The rules are different in each state and you may need more than 1 policy.
Fairwork coming around for a look?
Are your payrates and allowances correct? Have you found the right award? Don’t forget to provide the NES to new starters, casuals will need the casual information statement too and will need it each year.
ATO audit because you’ve lodged your BASs late or made silly expense claims? Checking that you are declaring and paying Fringe Benefits Tax? Are they refusing to remit fines and interest for late lodgement?
Late super investigation and penalties? Oh boy – this can be outrageously expensive. Some contractors are also entitled to super, check your subbies for eligibility.
